Valve has confirmed that the demo of co-op zombie slaying sequel
Left 4 Dead 2 will be arriving towards the end of this month - for those who've pre-ordered the full game anyway.
The demo of
Left 4 Dead 2 will arrive on November 10th according to Valve's latest press release, but fans who pre-order the game will get access to the demo a week ahead of everyone else, putting the demo date at October 27th. That's for the PC only though - Xbox Live Gold members will all get access to the demo on November 3rd.
The
Left 4 Dead 2 demo will be a sample of the fully-featured co-op campaign apparently, though not the newly announced multiplayer, scavenger or versus modes.
It will feature all the available melee weapons in the game though, as well as all the new boss infected zombies - and split screen support for Xbox 360 gamers.
The demo will feature gameplay from The Parish campaign, the same campaign
we played not too long ago, which is based on escaping from the French Quarter of New Orleans. This is the same campaign that features the new type of moving finale that impressed us so much in our hands-on preview, though it's unclear if that's going to feature in the demo.
If you can't wait quite that long then you can check out our
interview with Valve's Chet Faliszek for more information, or drop your thoughts in
the forums.
