Assuming you're not too busy signing petitions or boycotting Infinity Ward over their removal of support for dedicated servers and the mod community in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, you might be interested to know that the official PC system requirements for the game have finally been released.

The specifications were posted by American retail chain GameStop, via ShackNews, and list the required hardware to run the game on Windows XP and Windows Vista. Hardware requirements for Windows 7 have not yet been released - but then, the OS only went on sale yesterday.

Hard Drive Space: 16 GB free hard drive space
Operating System: Windows Vista/XP
Processor: AMD 64 3200+ or Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz or better
RAM: 512 MB RAM (XP) / 1 GB RAM (VISTA)
Video Card: Shader 3.0 or better 256 MB nVidia GeForce 6600GT / ATI Radeon 1600XT or better

It's also worth noting that, according to previous comments made by Infinity Ward, the multiplayer portion of the game will also be linked to Steam, as well as the new IWNet matchmaking system that has caused so much controversy. If you haven't got a Steam account then you'll likely have to sign up for one soon - but don't worry, it's free!

There's still no word on the ambiguous denial of the PC delay for the game, so for the moment we're assuming that the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 will be released on November 10th, alongside all other versions of the game.
