Ubisoft has released a new gameplay trailer for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, showing plenty of the high-seas based action that's in store.

The trailer shows the protagonist, Edward Kenway, slicing and dicing his way around the high-seas, accompanied by a dramatic voiceover from the man himself.

He tells of having "once sailed for a king" and "obeyed men of privilege and power" but that now it's his and his men's turn to take back what's theirs. A task that inevitably results in lots of cannon fire, drop kills and a disconcerting number of point-blank bullets to the head.

The visuals are pretty impressive with high quality character models and cityscapes along with dramatic rolling seas.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag release date
The game is due for release on 29th October (North America), 31 October (Australia) and 1 November (EU) and is coming to PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360.
