Valve has confirmed that it will be releasing downloadable content for Portal 2, though it has remained vague on the details of whether the content will be free or premium.
The confirmation come via Valve's Doug Lombardi, who mentioned in an interview that downloadable content for Portal 2 was planned for release this summer.
'
We will be announcing some DLC for it, so folks can keep a look out for more content coming this summer,' Lombardi told
FastCompany '
We'll be putting more details out about that in a week or so.'
'
We'll support that with more videos or more comics,' Lombardi said.
Valve has already released one Portal 2 comic for free, Lab Rat, as well as some day one downloadable content - hats and accessories for use in the co-operative campaign. The in-game store hasn't gone down well with gamers so far, however.
