Ubisoft has released a patch which removes controversial DRM from the PC version of Eric Chahi's From Dust.
The patch, which is rolling out automatically through Steam, will also sync savegames with Ubisoft's servers, says RPS.
The PC version of From Dust came under fire last month when it was released with Ubisoft's notorious DRM included, despite assurances from the publisher that it would not. The DRM required, among other things, that users always remain online to play the singleplayer game.
As a gesture of good will, digital distributor platform began a process of offering refunds to affected users.
Ubisoft also announced a release date for the PlayStation 3 version of From Dust today - it will be available to buy through the PlayStation Network from September 14, 2011.
