The official website for Quake 4 has now gone live.

On it, there are plenty of goodies for the Quake enthusiast. There are wallpapers, hi-res images, videos a-plenty as well as a bizarre feature on the Strogg Alphabet, and I can't help wondering whether knowing this will unlock something else on the site or in game.

The game is out on the 18th of October - annoyingly, the same date as Age of Empires 3 and F.E.A.R. This should make for a busy weekend for PC gamers!

Quake 4, if you've been hiding under a rock, is the follow-up to Quake 2 in terms of story, and is being developed by Raven, who have been trusted with the license while id Software work on other projects.

The game is also due to be released for the Xbox 360 come the launch day of that console. It utilises the Doom 3 engine and, frankly, looks awesome.

You can find the website at Quake4game.com.

Excited about the game? Found something cool on the website? Let us know in the forums.
