The Limited Edition version of EA Maxis'
Spore has been officially unveiled today and looks to add in a plethora of little extras and goodies to keep avowed Wil Wright fans happy.
Unfortunately though, in defiance of current internet trends now that the
Spore Creature Creator demo has been released, there'll be no Spor
n pin-up posters.
The Limited Edition pack though, which is being titled as
Spore: Galactic Edition will have plenty of other stuff in it though. There's a special box to hold all the goodies in, plus a Making Of DVD, a hardback art book, a fold-out
Spore poster and a 100 page Galactic Handbook detailing some background information and guides to the world of
Spore.
National Geographic has also bundled a 'How to build a better being' DVD with biological and evolutionary insights into creature creation.
The whole
Galactic Edition boxset will cost £44.99, which is just £5 more than the plain old vanilla package - so it seems like a pretty good deal really.
"
The Spore Galactic Edition is the ultimate backstage pass for the Spore universe," said Maxis' Patrick Buechner. "
It's an incredible collection of art, video and behind-the-scenes access to the development team for fans, along with some of the coolest, most collectable packaging in years."
