The last twelve months have been very good for gamers and towards the end of last year especially we saw some great games released on all platforms, but strategy fans especially have been well catered for by games like
C&C 3, [i]World in Conflict and the announcement of
Red Alert 3 on top of it all.
One game that managed to just skim under the radar for most though was SEGA's offering of
Universe at War: Earth Assault, which offered a choice of campaigns and some really bloody big robots.
A new patch for
Universe at War: Earth Assault released today though seeks to put the Petroglyph-developed
Universe at War back on the map though, adding in crossplatform play for Xbox 360 and PC gamers.
Players will now be able to go head to head in Ranked, Quickmatch and Conquer The World game modes across both platforms as a benefit of the Games For Windows label.
The full list of changes is rather extensive though, so if you want to grab the download or peruse the alterations then you'd better hop on over to the
official site and check for full details.
Is cross-platform play the future, or is it inherently unbalanced as an entire concept? Let us know what you think in
