As E3 2009 rolls ever onwards the announcements keep on coming, with Bungie and Microsoft again teaming up to reveal a new Halo game for the Xbox 360 called Halo: Reach.

Unveiled at Microsoft's major press conference last night, there are currently very few firm details on what Master Chief fans can expect from the game, though more details will doubtlessly surface as E3 2009 continues. We'll keep you posted, obviously.

What we do know for now is that the game will probably be an Xbox 360 exclusive, obviously, and that it's due for release in Q4 2010 - which is quite the wait.

A short trailer for the game was shown at E3 2009 and depicted the fall of Reach, one of the last human strongholds and the turning point in the human-Covenant war. The destruction of Reach took place before the events of the original Halo too, which has fuelled speculation that Halo: Reach may be a prequel to the first game.

There are practically no other details available at the moment and it isn't even clear if players can expect to be playing a Spartan, regular Marine or even a Covenant soldier. All we do know is that a bonus multiplayer beta version of Halo: Reach will be included for everyone buying the next Halo game, Halo: ODST. Halo: ODST is scheduled to hit shelves on September 22nd.

Are you excited by the idea of a possible Halo prequel, or do you just wish Bungie would go fully independent and start making new games? Let us know your thoughts in the forums.
