Microsoft has confirmed that it will release a HD remake of Halo: Combat Evolved on Xbox 360 later this year, naming a release date as part of its E3 2011 press conference.
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will be released for Xbox 360 on November 15th.
The news of a Halo remake is no big surprise - the project was rumoured long before
the news slipped out of Microsoft yesterday.
Few details of the game were announced, but it's rumoured that the remake will use the same engine as Bungie's
Halo: Reach, which was the latest game in the Halo series.
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will sport a total of seven multiplayer maps, all of which are remakes of the classics.
No developer has been announced for the title, which will launch ten years after the original Halo hit shelves.
