Do you like Microsoft's Office productivity suite but don't like the slimmed down Home & Student Edition? Well listen up because Microsoft is basically giving the Ultimate edition away.

If you're a college or university student in the US, Great Britain or Canada and have a valid email address that end in ".edu" or "ac.uk" then you'll be able save $619 off of the retail price by picking it up for $59.95. Later on this month students in France, Italy and Spain will be able to gain the same deal.

If you're unable to provide all of the information requested by Microsoft though, you'll have to pay the full cost of $679.

Many of our fine academic institutions already offer discounts on Microsoft's products, but this promotion is coming straight out of Redmond. You better act fast on this if you're wanting to grab a copy at this low price as the promotion will end on 30 April 2008.

Of course you'll probably be able to pick up a copy on eBay for a reasonable price during the duration of the promotion and even if you don't feel like paying at all, there is always OpenOffice and StarOffice that are available for free.

Sound like the deal of a lifetime? Sound out over in the forums or in the comment section below.
