The Football Table
The most visually defining part of the mod is likely the football table itself. To start with, I had to call the local laser cutting shop to get a few pieces of steel cut. I could have used aluminium, but steel would offer more support for the table itself.
Wood was fitted to the cut steel, then the pieces fitted together to form a box.
To start the table, the pieces of steel were attached to some wood for rigidity as well as appearance. The wood had holes drilled through it (depending on the side) to allow for the table football handle bars to be passed through. Once the wood and metal were joined, the pieces were assembled to create a box.
The table's denizens would be swiped from a travel table and slightly...modified.
Of course, a football table isn't very much of anything without some football players. Thank goodness, then, that I just happened to find this toy table football game on eBay! It was perfect for my needs, and so promptly got dissected. A coat of silver or black paint later (depending which side) and the table was just about ready.
The completed tabletop
The finished product received a second piece of white acrylic as a floor. This time, a logo for EA was applied with another vinyl sticker at the halfway line. The finished product could be left on the case or taken off to play elsewhere.
