Got some thoughts on the event? What are you planning to enter? Let us know!

Last year Custom PC, in association with PC World, held the UK’s first PC modding championship, to celebrate and reward the UK’s brightest modding talent. This year we’re taking things up a gear and partnering with the UK’s premier LAN event organisers, Multiplay, plus leading technology companies Tagan, Cooler Master and Real Machines, to host this year’s modding championship at the biggest LAN gaming event of the year!

Modfest 2005 will take place at Multiplay’s i-25 summer LAN event, which runs from 26 August to 29 August 2005 at Newbury Racecourse, Berkshire. The event will pit the UK’s best PC modders against each other for the title of UK PC Modding Champion 2005 and a grand prize of £1,300 worth of PC hardware. Second and third place runners up will win prizes worth £150 and £75 respectively. The winner and runners up will also have their PCs featured in the November issue of Custom PC magazine, on sale 29 September, and receive a Fragwear t-shirt.

Modfest entrants are entitled to a discounted i-25 entry price of £65 (usual price £75), which includes full admission to all four days of the i-25 LAN event, so you can demonstrate your gaming prowess as well as your modding skills. Modfest entrants also get double the standard desk area on which to exhibit their PCs, and participate in the LAN. The winners will be announced at 5pm on Saturday 27 August.

To receive the discounted entry price and a space in the Modfest arena, register for i-25 at www.multiplay.co.uk, paying the full price, and sign up for Modfest in the tournament registration section. When you sign-in for the event on the day, you’ll receive a £10 cash refund – perfect for getting that first round of drinks in!

Places are limited, so get modding!
