HP has confirmed that it's going to join Dell in the battle to produce 30" monitors for hardcore gamers and graphics professionals alike.
The 3065 will be available in November, sporting an all-black casing with a power LED that shuts off after 15 seconds to provide minimal distraction from the on-screen picture.
No details on contrast ratios or brightness specs yet, but we do know that it will have the standard 2560x1600 resolution and will have more inputs than the Dell 30". Whereas the Dell sports just a single DVI connection, the HP will have three DVI connections and HDCP content protection - however, there won't be HDMI, component or S-Video.
The monitor will rock up on November 1st at $1999, around $200 more expensive than Dell. Would you pay $200 for a couple more DVI inputs? Questionable - we suspect that buying decisions will come down to panel specs.
