Today,
CoolTechZone are reporting that two industry insider sources have revealed that both ATI and NVIDIA have plans to unveil their latest graphics solutions at this year's Computex trade show held in Taipei, Taiwan from 31st May to 4th of June.
Earlier speculations suggested that both companies would come out with new products toward the end of the year. However, it looks like that will not be the case, and products will be announced sometime during Computex 2005.
There are no firm specifiations for either ATI or NVIDIA's parts, but it does look like both parts will be based on Shader Model 3.0. Reports also suggest that each part will have 32 pixel pipelines, but we will wait and see what turns up before we make any telling judgements on internal configurations.
We are led to believe that ATI will be releasing its Multi VPU architecture before it releases it's new high-end video card, R520, so it looks like there could be a very busy few weeks ahead leading up to and immediately after Computex 2005.
NVIDIA's roadmap has been slightly more devious, with what looks like a change from the company's normal labelling of its GPU's. We understand that G70 is the code name for NVIDIA's next part, and believe it is manufactured on a 110-nanometre TSMC fabrication process. The rest of the part's specifications is not known at the time of reporting.
Of course, we will have reporters at the show to bring you all the latest news, even if it means taking one for the team and drinking the PR people under the table to get the truth - we will leave no pint glass unturned!
