New case company, BitFenix, is finally ready to launch its first case. Announced today the Colossus should be in stores in a months time, by 'mid September'.

Following on from our first look a couple of months ago, we're told by the company that there have been a few last minute changes - such as changing the 'S3' storage box to steel to improve its strength and quality.

The availability of black and white with both blue and red LEDs (that can be turned off) are listed, and each features the same five 5.25in bays and seven 3.5in bays with SSD support.

In the roof and front there is a single 230mm fan that can be replaced with a 140/120mm of choice, and there's also another 140/120mm space in the bottom too. It's missing a side panel fan because of the extrapolation of LED effect outside from front to back. The case also includes a PWM fan controller for all the fans in the hidey-hole storage space at the top too.

Apparently the outer coating has been changed too - it now features a proprietary SofTouch (that's a branded feature, not a spelling error) technology that 'protects it from stains and gives an amazing feel' but we'll have to wait and see that one for ourselves.

Cleverly the door is also switchable to either side but internal watercooling support is limited to using a single 120/140mm radiator at the bottom, unless you use the four external holes.

Can it compete with the likes of Cooler Master, Silverstone, Antec, Lian Li or even new-comer Fractal Design? Let us know your thoughts, in the forums.
