NZXT has announced a competition to popularise its latest entry point in to the Phantom case family, the Phantom 240, and it's asking people to design Special Edition variants with the promise of prizes.
The NZXT Phantom 240 is the cheapest of the Phantom range, priced at around £55 in the UK. It includes the line's signature asymmetrical shape, curved front and roof, and a large side-panel window. The company teased that additional colours to the standard black and white would be available, and now it's made clear its aim: to encourage customers to come up with new colour combinations for Special Edition versions of the case with a little competition.
Using a customisation feature of the company's website, NZXT is asking entrants to choose colours for up to five separate components of the case. These colour combinations will be entered into a Facebook-powered vote, with the two most popular choices plus a wildcard entry picked by NZXT itself being chosen to form three new Phantom 240 Special Edition cases.
By way of reward, those picked as the basis for the Special Editions will also receive a laser-etched version of the case in their own custom colours, an NZXT Kraken CPU cooler, a Ducky Shine 3 mechanical keyboard, a HALE82 V2 700W power supply and a Sentry 3 fan controller to form the basis of their next build or upgrade.
Those interest in entering the competition can do so on the company's
My Design site now. The competition runs until the 1st of June.
