Rotterdam-based chassis maker Phanteks has announced a new entry in its Enthoo family: the compact yet liquid-cooling-compatible Enthoo Mini XL 'super micro ATX.'
Building on the company's existing designs, the oxymoronic Enthoo Mini XL is designed to sit higher in the market than the Enthoo Primo. A bundled RGB LED lighting system with 10-colour control and optional upgrade kit for dual-motherboard - one micro-ATX, one mini-ITX - usage help in this regard, but the main focus of the company's redesign is to improve compatibility with liquid cooling systems. Pump brackets are built into the system with preinstalled vibration dampers, while two separate locations - a dedicated mounting bracket and additional space at the rear of the case - are provided for reservoir installation. An additional bracket is also included at the side for a 240mm radiator.
For those who prefer to keep liquids away from their electronics, the Enthoo Mini XL includes three Phanteks PH-F140SP fans pre-installed as standard, linked to a bundled PWM control hub supporting a total of seven fans expanding to 11 via optional Y-splitter accessories. In total, the case provides room for 14 120mm or 140mm fans, while the power supply has been shifted to the top of the case in a '
thermally isolated' region for better airflow to the motherboard and GPU.
The case itself features a sandblasted matte finish to its aluminium faceplates, and measures 260mm wide by 480mm deep and 550mm tall. Dual removeable hard-drive cages are included, along with two 'Drop-n-Lock' SSD brackets, quick-eject dust filters on the intakes, two USB 3.0 ports - with rubber bungs - on the front panel, and a '
mod friendly structure' which uses easily-removed screws to fasten all the pieces of the case together instead of awkward rivets. In addition to the dual-motherboard upgrade, additional accessories include RGB LED lighting strips for connection to the internal controller, two more SSD brackets and two additional hard drive cage mount points.
The Enthoo Mini XL is due to arrive in the UK some time this month, priced at
£149.99 for the black-finish case, £22.99 for the dual-motherboard kit and £5.99 for each additional hard drive cage. Everything is, as always, covered by Phanteks' five-year warranty. More details are available on the
official website.
