It seems that ATI are fulfilling early suggestions that they will be expanding their CrossFire technology to chipsets other than its own Radeon Xpress 200 CrossFire Edition chipset

Reports coming from Taiwan's top industry news wire, Digitimes, suggest that ATI has released CrossFire-compatible video card drivers that support Intel's 955X chipset to motherboard manufacturers.

We are expecting CrossFire enabled motherboards based on ATI's Radeon Xpress 200 CrossFire Edition chipset to start shipping in August, and we suspect that the Intel 955X-based CrossFire enabled motherboards will ship in the same time frame too.

We get the impression that ASUS and Gigabyte will launch new motherboards featuring Intel's 955X chipset and dual PCI-Express x16 slots for dual video card operation.
