The chaps over at Mavromatic have got the first pictures up of Media Center Edition running on Windows Vista, which we have shamelessly ripped here.

The pictures show what appears to be Microsoft's approach to the whole thing - "Hey, we can do transparency effects in Vista, let's make everything transparent!"

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should, guys.

Personally, I think the new interface looks a little overcomplicated and cluttered. I'm a big fan of the clean interface on MCE05, and this, as fancy as it is, looks like a step away from that.

However, as ever, final judgment reserved for when we get our hands on the actual thing. Who's willing to bet it will be on BitTorrent in a week?

Think this looks appalling? Love the existing MCE setup, or hate it? Let us know your thoughts in the forums.
