The rumour we
previously reported about Nokia tablets has turned out to be true, but instead of the previously mooted "Autumn" timeframe, we're now firmly looking at Q4 according to Digitimes.
Digitimes also reports Foxconn has taken on the OEM contract and an insider claims no less than
100 engineering samples of seven and nine inch tablets have been designed to date, so lets hope Nokia found the right one from the crowd!
Nokia will very likely use its MeeGo OS, although despite its
partnership with Intel in the software department, reports are that it has chosen an ARM Coretex CPU, not Intel's Moorestown to power its tablet.
As Intel's biggest mobile partner, is the snub by Nokia a significant impact on its future mobile-x86 sales? Are you waiting for a MeeGo OS tablet or Android? Let us know your thoughts,
in the forums.
