Leading research outfit, or mad-scientist archetypes (depending on your point of view), BT Laboratories, have suggested that future cosmetic surgery might have a musical ring to it.

According to Ananova, scientist Ian Pearson has suggested that silicon implants might include extra silicon - in the form of MP3 players.

"One boob could hold an MP3 player and the other the person's whole music collection", so says the news service.

Music could be transferred wirelessly, with the controls in the form of a Bluetooth watch, and headphones also connected wirelessly. The implants could be available within 15 years, according to Pearson.

The implants give a new meaning to the concept of having your music on you everywhere! Forget the iPod nano, huh? This is not so much nano, as subdermal!

Of course, all the inevitable jokes about tweaking the settings and playing with the hardware (or software) can be made in the News Forum.
