Jen-Hsun Huang revealed his goals for Nvision and much to our surprise, one of them isn’t to focus on his company; instead, he sees it as a show for the visual computing industry as a whole.
“
Nvision isn’t just about the PC ecosystem, it’s for the visual computing industry – this includes film, photography, gaming, industrial design and every aspect of the visual computing ecosystem,” explained Huang.
“
It’s not about us, it’s about our ecosystem. We made a point not to announce products here – this is not a platform for us to announce products, it’s a platform for our ecosystem. Of course, we have to do the heavy lifting this time around, but hopefully next year the whole industry does the heavy lifting.
“
This is the first industry conference for the visual computing ecosystem. We invited Intel and AMD this year and we want them to be here. I hope they’ll be here next year,” he continued.
What do you think about the lack of Nvidia-related announcements and do you think it’s good for the visual computing industry to have its own conference? Share your thoughts
