Enthusiast-centric etailer Overclockers UK has announced it is expanding its pilot high-street sales programme, adding another eight stores to the two it entered last month and with the possibility of more to come.
Overclockers UK drew surprised yet pleased reactions when it announced
a partnership with Game which would see the company get shelf-space in Game's high-street shops in order to sell pre-built gaming PCs, peripherals, and components. Initially, the programme saw Overclockers UK enter just two shops in Basingstoke and Manchester's Trafford Centre, with more promised to open '
over then next few weeks'.
Now, the company has confirmed that it has completed its planned expansion of the programme to cover a total of ten Game stores across the UK. In addition to the initial Basingstoke and Trafford Centre stores, Overclockers UK products can now be found in Teesside Shopping Park in Stockton-on-Tees, the Metro Centre in Newcastle upon Tyne, and the Breahead centre in Glasgow. The remaining five stores planned for the initial roll-out - the Grosvenor centre in Chester, St. David's Dewi Sant centre in Cardiff, Eastgate centre in Gloucester, Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth, and Castle Point in Bournemouth - are due to open over the next few days, with all up-and-running by this Saturday.
The new openings complete the planned ten store roll-out, but a spokesperson for Overclockers UK has hinted that '
there are possibly more to come,' likely following a trial period to judge the success of the initial entries.
