Peripherals maker Qpad has announced its latest mechanical gaming keyboard, the MK-90, designed to sit at the very top of the company's line-up.
Designed to take over from Qpad's current MK-85, the MK-90 improves on its predecessor with a redesign for the fashion-conscious: a new RGB LED lighting system which supports breathing, trigger, explosion, rainbow and other animation modes across each key with a choice of 16.8 million colours. A white mounting plate for the switches enhances the perceived brightness of the lighting system, reflecting more light out from behind the keys than the usual dark-coloured plates or PCBs of rival keyboards.
'Our MK-90 sets new standards in the gaming world,' crowed Qpad founder Christer 'Mr Mouse' Körnbäck of his company's latest creation. 'If you want to have a performance-enhancing keyboard that will light up your gaming experience and lift your game and your spirits to a whole new level, the Qpad MK-90 will do the job.'
In addition to its shiny lighting system, the full-size MK-90 includes the claim of being Qpad's strongest keyboard to date. The mechanical switches feature a 60 million activation promise, while the reinforcing plate is constructed from steel. Full N-key rollover is included, and like its predecessor the MK-85 the keyboard includes pass-through ports for audio and USB. A removable wrist-rest is bundled with the keyboard as standard.
The Qpad MK-90 is due to launch in March this year with a choice of red (linear) and brown (tactile no-click) switch types, priced at £149.99.
