The Crew is new MMO racing game

Ubisoft has announced The Crew, a new racing game that incorporates MMO elements and takes places across the whole of America.

The game is coming to the Xbox One, PS4 and PC and takes full advantage of the next-gen consoles' ability to cope with large maps, allowing for seamless movement throughout massive worlds.

Know locations in which the game will take place include the cities of New York, Miami and Las Vegas.

In development at Ivory Tower, with veterans from the team that developed the Test Drive Unlimited series, the game incorporates a persistent online play space, where single-player and multiplayer elements are seamlessly blended together. There's also a team element involved with players creating a team of drivers, i.e. the Crew.

Cars can be extensively modded, with the game allowing the player to completely strip back the car and build it back up. Combined with the team aspects of the game there will no doubt be a focus on specialising particular cars for particular duties.

The Crew release date is sat at early 2014.
