Popular Microsoft blogger Ed Bott
has some info on the way that Microsoft plans to ship consumer versions of Windows Vista.
The 'Home' variants of Vista include Home Basic, Home Premium and Ultimate. However, rather than be different physical discs, the single Windows Home disc will ship with all three versions, and you get to unlock what you paid for.
Want to upgrade from Basic to Ultimate? You can simply tap in some monetary details and the extra functionality will be unlocked.
Is it just us, or is this going to be
really easy to crack, allowing you to get the top version for the easiest money?
The feature is called Windows Anytime Upgrade, and there's some pictures of it over at Ed's site. Drop by and take a look, then why not let us know what you think of the whole multiple-versions-of-Vista shenanigans
over in our forum.
