There's not much more to add than what the title of this news post says: we're hiring! That's right, we're in need of a staff writer to work on both bit-tech and Custom PC magazine. Staff Writer is a junior position on a publication, so it's an ideal place to get started in the world of technical consumer journalism.

In this position you will be contributing a wide range of article types, including news, reviews, features and blog posts, so a flexible, creative approach is important. As well as plenty of writing talent, we’re looking for someone who has demonstrated the ability to work well under pressure, as hitting deadlines is key to succeeding in the role.

This is a junior role, so while previous experience of journalism is an advantage, it is not a requirement for applicants. What is required is a love for PC hardware, modding, as well as gaming and broader digital technology. Although this is a junior role, it is one with plenty of scope for development, so initiative, ideas and a proactive approach to work will be rewarded. A desire to learn more about both computer technology and consumer journalism is a must.

The role is full-time, based at Dennis Publishing in the heart of London’s West End and offers an excellent remuneration and benefits package, along with fantastic opportunity for career progression.

To apply, please email your CV, a 500-word review of your own PC or one of its key components in the Custom PC and bit-tech style, along with covering letter explaining why you’re the best person for the job to Alex Watson, Group Editor: alex [at] custompc.co.uk

The closing date is 22nd March 2010, and the full job ad is on the Dennis corporate site. Questions or comments? Let us know in the forums.
