May 29, 2008- abit announced the latest motherboard for the gaming enthusiasts, the AN78GS. Supporting NVIDIA® Hybrid SLI Technology for improved 3D graphic performance, the AN78GS motherboard is based on NVIDIA® GeForce8200 and the chipset is integrated with GeForce 8 series graphics supporting DirectX10 with Shader model 4.0 for greater and more clarified graphic performance. The AN78GS motherboard supports AMD AM2+/AM2 processor running HT3.0 up to 5200MT/s. Four 240-pin DIMM sockets offer a maximum of 8GB memory capacity for Dual Channel DDR2 1066 modules. 1 x PCI-EX16 supporting new generation PCI Express2.0, 2 x PCI-EX1, and 3 x PCI slots hold enough potential for further expansion and system upgrades with different add-on cards.

Featuring stunning graphic performance, the AN78GS motherboard supports NVIDIA® Hybid SLI Technology, NVIDIA® PureVideo HD, and NVIDIA® nView® multi-display Technology, providing you an unprecedented gaming experience.

NVIDIA Hybrid SLI Technology
The AN78GS supports NVIDIA’s latest Hybrid SLI technology, introducing the “GeForce Boost” and “Hybrid Power” features. The “GeForce Boost” enables maximum graphic performance enhanced by an add-on VGA card. The “Hybrid Power” provides flexibility to switch off the add-on VGA for power saving operations. It is much easier to enjoy the high definition multimedia.

Supports DirectX 10 with greater graphic experience
NVIDIA’s fourth-generation GPU architecture built for Windows Vista® offers the best possible experience with the Windows Aero 3D graphical users interface.

NVIDIA® PureVideo HD (AN78GT/GS only)
The GPU video processor can offload 100% Blu-ray and HD DVD H.264 video decoding from the CPU. PureVideo™ HD technology lets you enjoy stunning HD DVD and Blu-ray movies with superb picture clarity, low CPU utilization, and low power consumption.

Other than the graphics performance, the AN78GS is equipped with outstanding abit Engineered. Featuring high quality solid state capacitors, the 4 phase PWM provides sufficient power and great stability to AM2+ CPU. Moreover, through the unique abit engineered Silent-OTES™ heat-pipe design, heat generated by the chipset can be efficiently and noiselessly dissipated.
