London, 24th February 2010 – Our lives are increasingly mobile. We travel for education, business and leisure and in most cases we carry our laptops along. This translates into a greater exposure of the computing equipment to risks and into an increased need to receive assistance while abroad.

This is what inspired Acer - always attentive to user needs and dedicated to provide users with an efficient and satisfactory service - to extend (free of charge) the term of the International Travelers Warranty (ITW).

Up to now users could require Acer ITW if the length of their stay abroad was less than 3 months. This meant that Acer ITW users were mainly business travelers. Now the period of validity of Acer ITW has been extended to 12 months so that other categories of travelers will be able to benefit from this service.

Thanks to this enhanced warranty, also students going abroad for educational purposes or professionals spending extended periods of time in other countries will now be able to take advantage of Acer ITW.

With the clear aim of continually improving Customer service through an extensive assistance network, Acer has also decided to increase the number of locations offering Authorized ITW Service in China, Taiwan, EMEA and AAP.

Across the world, recently 38 new locations have been added: 21 in China (PRC), 4 in Taiwan (ROC), 10 in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and 3 in Asia Pacific Region.

The ITW is additional to the local warranty covering Acer products and it doesn’t apply in the country of purchase. This means that if you buy an Acer notebook in Seoul you can have it repaired under the terms of the International Traveler Warranty while you are on a business trip in the US or at the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.
