BenQ Gaming Projector MP512ST - Bigger pictures in shorter distances

Hemel Hempstead, UK, 16th October 2008 – BenQ presents its new short-distance projector MP512 ST, which overcomes all space constraints due to its unique aspherical lens, for projecting bigger images with brilliant picture quality at a closer range. Comprehensive connectivity including HDMI™, 2,200 ANSI lumens, 2,500:1 contrast ratio, SVGA resolution (800 x 600) and two integrated 5-watt stereo speakers make the MP512ST the perfect home entertainment companion for Wii™, PlayStation3®, Xbox 360®, movies and more.

For home entertainment and gaming, the MP512ST lets people move about freely without interfering with the image being displayed, a benefit that is especially evident when playing interactive gaming systems such as Wii™ of Nintendo®. For movie watching, the short throw distance – which is half that of conventional projectors – ensures no one getting up will disrupt the movie. Able to project a 55" (about 140 cm) image from just a metre away, the BenQ MP512ST solves the space concerns of delivering big-screen viewing in small rooms where wall-to-wall distances are short. Furthermore, the stylish, sleek snow-white design compliments any home decor.

The BenQ MP512ST is equipped with a wide range of features which make it possible to carry the projector easily from home to home. Weighing 2.2 kg, the MP512ST is, for example, highly portable. Furthermore, Wall Colour Correction Technology allows the use of walls – even non-white ones – as a projection screen. Thereby, the projection will be displayed in the same colours as the original. With the Quick Cooling function, users do not have to wait for the projector to cool, they can just quickly pack the projector and go.

The MP short throw projector arrives with the Texas Instruments® Digital Light Processing® (DLP) technology for sharper fine details, easy-to-read text and consistent, vivid colours. Additionally, colour is optimised by an advanced 5-segment colour wheel and BrilliantColor™ technology, which boosts brightness up to 50% and drastically amplifies mid-tone hues. Users can further fine-tune colours with 3D Colour Management – an exclusive advancement for the independent adjustment of hue, saturation and boldness.

The MP512ST is priced at £430 ex VAT and will be available from the end of October

Ultra-quiet short throw projector - MP522ST DLP® for SMB, SOHO and education

Hemel Hempstead, UK, 16th October 2008 – BenQ announces the expansion of its Mainstream Series DLP® projectors with the addition of the new short throw model MP522ST (XGA). The projector is highlighted by a super-quiet noise level of just 26/31 dB (eco/normal modes). Due to its short throw lens, the MP522ST opens more usable space, especially in small rooms, and is the ideal companion for SMB, SOHO and education.

The short throw model BenQ MP522ST arrives with 2,000 ANSI lumens, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, XGA resolution (1,024 x 768) and one integrated 5-watt speaker. Able to project a 55" (about 140 cm) image from just a metre away, the MP522ST overcomes all space constraints – for example, in small classrooms and meetings rooms – due to its unique aspherical lens, for projecting bigger images with brilliant picture quality at a closer range. Viewers and presenters are able to move freely in the space behind the projector without crossing the projection path. Standing behind the projector also prevents the presenter’s shadow from being cast onto the screen.

The BenQ MP522ST arrives with a wide range of features for business solutions. The Wall Colour Correction Technology allows the use of walls – even non-white ones – as a projection screen. Thereby, the projection will be displayed in the same colours as the original. With the Quick Cooling function, users do not have to wait for the projector to cool, they can just quickly pack the projector and go. Furthermore, the on-screen presentation timer helps to keep the presentation on track as one can see how much time is remaining,

The MP522ST is equipped with Texas Instruments® Digital Light Processing® (DLP) technology for sharper fine details and easy-to-read text, which is important for classroom and business presentations. Additionally, colour is optimised by an advanced 5-segment colour wheel and BrilliantColor™ technology, which boosts brightness up to 50% and drastically amplifies mid-tone hues. Users can further fine-tune colours with 3D Colour Management – an exclusive advancement for independent adjustment of hue, saturation and boldness.
