AN804: Gaming Performance Analysis – 4GB vs. 2GB examines the benefits on a system’s performance when upgrading from 2GB of system memory to 4GB. Taking a real-world benchmarking approach, Corsair looked specifically at:
* Frame rate improvements
* Multi-tasking scenarios
* Program load times
* Memory usage of various applications
“Frankly, we were surprised by the magnitude of many of these results,” stated John Beekley, VP of Applications Engineering at Corsair. “The gains achieved in eliminating instances of slow frame rates in games resulted in a very apparent improvement in the quality of game play.
