CREATIVE INTRODUCES THE ZEN STONE AND ZEN STONE PLUS, WITH BUILT-IN SPEAKERS: MICRO BOOM BOXES THAT FREE PEOPLE FROM HEADPHONES
The new MP3 players with built-in speakers are introduced at CES, Las Vegas.
7 January 2008 – Creative, a worldwide leader in digital entertainment products, announces two new micro boom boxes to join its award-winning MP3 player family: the ZEN Stone and ZEN Stone Plus, each featuring a built-in speaker. The ZEN Stone will be available in 1GB and 2GB models; the ZEN Stone Plus, with vibrant screen, FM radio, voice recording, clock/stopwatch and customisable equalizer settings, will be available in 2GB and 4GB models. These new ZEN MP3 players are on display this week at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on the Creative stand (number 30642) in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The 2GB models of the ZEN Stone and ZEN Stone Plus with built-in speakers can store up to 1000 songs.* As well as MP3 and WMA formats they also support Audible files, ideal for listening to audio books in the car or with family. The ZEN Stone Plus also supports unprotected AAC files (including iTunes Plus). Available in elegant matte black, dark blue, pink or champagne, the new ZEN Stone players feature a smooth, contoured design for a natural, comfortable fit in the hand. A translucent silicon skin with a clip is included in the box, and a sporty armband and ultra-portable keychain with a tiny case that carries the player are available separately.
“The ZEN Stone and ZEN Stone Plus with built-in speakers free people from having to wear headphones to listen to their portable music,” says Sim Wong Hoo, chairman and CEO of Creative. “They enable users to enjoy music when they are on a walk or in a group and want to enjoy a conversation or hear what’s going on around them,” he adds. “It’s hard to believe that such incredibly small players can have a speaker that sounds so good, enabling people to share their music with friends, without headphones.”
Adding music to the ZEN Stone or ZEN Stone Plus is easy. Users just drag and drop music files to the player and press ‘Play’ to enjoy up to 20 hours of songs from a single charge of the built-in battery. No software is necessary to add music. Users can easily connect headphones to the players when they want to listen to music privately.
