Yantai, China, May 29th 2008 – FOXCONN today launch the first AMD platform motherboard in its highly-successful Quantum Force product range. Destroyer is based on the NVIDIA® 780a SLI MCP and supports the latest AMD Phenom™ processors along with socket AM2 Athlon™ and Sempron™ CPUs. It supports HyperTransport™ 3.0 technology, which dramatically increases available bandwidth between CPU and other system components.

“This is the first Quantum Force solution for the AMD platform, and we are certainly very happy with the result,” commented Greta Kuo, Quantum Force Product Manager. Kuo claims that Destroyer will “push the envelop of AMD desktop performance”, thanks to innovations like the Quantum BIOS and extended heatpipe solution which helps to remove heat from the northbridge through a radiator fitting that can be mounted outside of the PC case.

2-way, 3-way SLI or 4-way graphics firepower
With 4* PCIe2.0 x16 slots, Destroyer includes multiple options for graphics configurations, including 3-way SLI™ support or 4-way graphics. Multi-graphics configurations present enthusiasts and with huge boosts in graphics performance, with 3-way SLI™ providing up to 2.8x the performance capability of a single graphics card and catering for extreme HD resolutions of 2560x1600 at truly playable frame rates.

Accelerated HD graphics performance
Destroyer includes new technologies designed to further boost the performance of installed graphics cards, and enable playback of HD video content.

GeForce® Boost turbocharges the performance of GeForce® graphics cards by utilizing the onboard GeForce® GPU in tandem with installed graphics cards. The integrated GPU also features PureVideo HD technology which combines high-definition video decode acceleration and post-processing to deliver unprecedented picture clarity, smooth video, accurate color, and precise image scaling for movies and video. PureVideo HD includes required content protection circuitry (HDCP) for playing the new Blu-ray and HD DVD movies at the highest quality possible, and is directly integrated with the leading HD movie software players.

HybridPower™ saves energy and reduces noise from your PC by disabling installed graphics cards when they are not needed, and re-activating them for graphics-intensive applications such as gaming.

New audio technology
Destroyer includes a new audio solution using Low ESR Metallized Polyster Film capacitors to deliver greater sound clarity and audio fidelity.

The onboard audio circuits of the 7.1channel HD audio use metallized polyster film capacitors with low ESR to improve audio quality and reduce interference. These components are widely used in high-end audio equipment.

ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) is the degree to which natural resistance occurs in a capacitor, generating heat and resulting in failure or distortion of signals.

The use of low ESR capacitors in audio circuits reduces occurrences of electrical noise and improves frequency response - especially in the higher audio ranges of 20-48KHz.

Quantum BIOS
The new Quantum BIOS found on the Destroyer motherboard has been adapted for the AMD platform. Just as on Destroyer’s sister Intel-platform motherboard – Dreadnought - the BIOS menus are intuitive and user friendly, organized in groups of inter-related settings. A huge number of settings and tweaks have been opened up to enthusiasts to push the performance of their hardware.

Unique accessories for enthusiasts
Just like the BLACKOPS motherboard, Destroyer includes a range of accessories designed to provide additional convenience and performance enhancements for overclockers.

Destroyer owners will receive the Quantum Lap motherboard tray for convenient workbench access to all parts of the motherboard, and the Quantum Flow kit – which improves airflow around installed VGA cards. The Quantum Flow fan can be installed in a horizontal or vertical position, and lowers temperatures around multi-VGA rigs by around 5ºC.

Safety and convenience for overclocking
Onboard CMOS reset and power on/off buttons and the OC Recover feature combine to speed up recovery time from unsuccessful overclocking attempts, whilst the new Twin BIOS feature safeguards against BIOS corruption and enables hot-swapping of BIOS chips.

The Windows-based AEGIS Panel enables easy and quick overclocking along with system monitoring features, and has an intuitive GUI that allows control of clock frequencies, voltages and more.

Flexible connectivity
Destoyer features Dual Gigabit LAN – ideal for LAN parties where gamers can use one port to connect to the internet and another for the LAN. Also included are a wide range of connectivity technologies including SATAII, eSATA, ATA, USB2.0 and FireWire (IEEE1394). –
NVIDIA® MediaShield™ Storage technology provides a suite of features that safeguard your most important digital media assets and provides RAID 0, 1, 10, 5 configurations.

Pricing & Availability
The Destroyer motherboard will be available in retail channels this month, priced around US$299.
