The growing importance of the EGA is now recognized as leading MMO developer takes up headline sponsorship opportunity.

Mülheim a.d. Ruhr, August 4th 2011 – Wargaming.net, one of the most respects and successful MMO specialists in the world, is today proud to announce that it will be the official headline sponsor of this year’s European Games Award (EGA). The awards, now widely recognized as one of Europe’s largest games award ceremonies and taking place before the start of the giant Gamescom event, will be held on 13th August 2011 on the event ship Pure Liner 1, moored on the Rhine river in Cologne.

Victor Kislyi, CEO of Wargaming.net, is proud to be involved in such an important industry event “A games-award, which allows players from all over Europe to not only to nominate games and companies, but to choose the winner themselves, is a fantastic idea” he said. “By working to this model, not only do developers gain valuable feedback from regions they usually have little or no contact with, but games and companies which might have been under the regional radar now receive public attention. We are very happy that we can support this great initiative”.

Wargaming.net is best known to fans of strategy games such as the international award-winning Massive Assault-series, Order of War published by Square Enix and the current headline project World of Tanks, which recently gained Guiness World Record recognition for the most players on one server playing a simultaneous game.
