INTEL® MULTI-SITE DIRECTOR: AN IT MANAGER FOR EUROPEAN SMALL BUSINESS

Intel announces small business portal for Intel IT resellers

SWINDON, UK, December 4, 2007 – Intel Corporation today announced plans for a new online portal designed to enhance IT services offerings for small and medium businesses served by Intel’s reseller channel. Intel® Multi-Site Director will launch in the European market where small business is a major contributor to the overall economy. Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) are often referred to as the backbone of the European economy - providing a potential source for jobs and economic growth (99% of all businesses in the European Union in 2005).

Intel® Multi-Site Director enables local IT resellers to offer small business remote IT services such as expanded warranty services, helpdesk, IT audits, monitoring of business critical systems, security patch management, routine systems maintenance, managed desktop PC services and managed server services.

When used in conjunction with Intel® vPro™ and Intel® Centrino® Pro processor technology based desktop and notebook PCs, Intel® Multi-Site Director delivers extended benefits due to synergistic functionality – utilizing the management features embedded in Intel’s leading-edge technology. Features like remote patching management and company wide power control capability avoid the need for companies to leave their computer systems powered on in order to allow service providers to perform security updates out of hours. Such advanced service capabilities result in reduced utility bills, improved employee productivity and a more secure IT infrastructure.

Small business, born out of European creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, needs to sharpen its competitive edge if it is to flourish in today’s competitive environment. An increasing percentage of businesses today rely on IT to improve the efficiency of their processes and improve their competitiveness. On average, around 50% of company growth can be linked directly back to IT investments, yet small business often lacks internal resources to ensure efficient IT management, effective information security and the expertise to get the most from their IT investment.

Local IT resellers are ideally placed, for their geographical proximity and local knowledge to deliver IT services tailored to the needs of their small business customers. They are today’s trusted advisors to small business and being small businesses themselves they understand first hand the needs of their customers.

Intel® Multi-Site Director will enable them to extend their range of support services, improving their customers’ utilization of IT and providing more responsive, proactive and cost effective services to small business across Europe.

Starting in December 2007 Intel® Multi-Site Director will be available for evaluation to a select audience of Intel channel members in Germany, UK, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Belgium, Luxemburg and the Netherlands. The commercial sale of Intel® Multi-Site Director will commence in the first quarter of 2008 – to Intel channel program members – with a view to widening its availability to additional countries in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) through 2008. Intel Multi-Site Director will be available exclusively online and will be sold on a “pay as you go” subscription basis.

“Intel Multi-Site Director will lighten the IT-maintenance load for small businesses while still allowing them to enjoy the benefits of IT and offering local IT resellers the opportunity to use their expertise to grow and expand their range of services” said Rob Sheppard, Business Client Marketing Manager for Intel in EMEA. A trial program has been in place since June and the responses from customers have been very encouraging. Ulrik Holm Nielsen, Founder of channel vendor NEM Computer in Denmark commented: “Intel Multi-Site Director is a clear winner. The easy deployment and manageability makes it an ideal solution for expanding our business into the service and management market.”
