Dremel has launched a new campaign to find its DIY and artistic heroes from amongst the UK general public.
Entrants are requested to upload a short video of less than 5 minutes of themselves with their DIY or artistic projects via YouTube or Vimeo. Or enter a special craftsperson as 'a hero who deserves some appreciation'.
Full details can be found on
http://www.dremelheroes.com/
There will be a weekly prize draw to win a Dremel Multi-purpose accessory set and a monthly prize draw to win a Dremel 8200 Limited Edition Premium tool kit.
An expert jury will look at all the uploaded videos and choose the winners. The winning criteria will embrace three factors: how inspiring the video is itself, craftsmanship with an eye for detail, and the project result/creativity.
The judges are:
Andy – the very experienced 'singing handyman of London' who runs a well-established business performing DIY jobs for people in their homes; Fabrizio – an Italian artist who has exhibitions around the world from Boston to Como, his home town; and Anthony from Amsterdam, a craftsman who makes huge sculptures for people around the world. Each uses Dremel tools to bring their projects to life.
Entrants must be 18 years old or over and resident in the UK. The promotion runs from February to the end of March 2014.
