Milton Keynes, England, 10th January, 2006 – With innovative products that span multiple target markets, Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS), the world’s leading motherboard, barebone system and notebook manufacturer, is releasing two powerful PCI Express® graphics cards with NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800GTX and 8800GTS graphics processing units (GPU). The N8800GTX-768MX is ECS’ new flagship product with 768MB GDDR3 memory that interfaces with the GPU on a 384-bit memory bus, with an operating core of 575 MHz and memory clock timings of 1.8 GHz. The N8800GTS-640MX comes with 640 MB GDDR3 memory, a 320-bit memory interface, 500 MHz core and 1.6 GHz memory clock speed. Both versions are SLI™-ready, with 16x full-screen anti-aliasing and 128-bit floating-point, high dynamic-range (HDR) lighting technology. These 8800GTX/GTS GPU-based graphics cards are best in industry solutions for extreme gamers, design and video/graphics users wanting the highest performance graphics cards available.

Great performance and realism
Both cards are Microsoft Windows® Vista™ ready and utilize NVIDIA’s unified architecture technology with shader processors for geometry, vertex and pixel shading calculations. The N8800GTX-768MX has 128 shader processors clocked at 1350MHz. The N8800GTS-640MX has 96 shader processors at 1200MHz. This gives the N8800GTX-768MX a theoretical texture fill rate of 38.4 billion texels per second, which is nearly double any comparable solution currently on the market. Innovation like this allows game developers to add more shadowing and textures to increase realism in their releases.

Speaking of bandwidth
The wider bandwidth of both cards (384-bit and 320-bit) is higher than the 256-bit maximum currently offered on the market. When directly compared with the 7950GX2 GPU-based solution, the N8800GTX offers 30% better overall performance and up to a 50% increase in performance when two cards are used in a SLI configuration. Microsoft® DirectX® 10 and Shader Model 4.0 offer unmatched display realism and high-definition graphics.

NVIDIA features galore!
Both these graphics cards carry a full arsenal of NVIDIA’s newest graphics utilities and features, including; GigaThread™ Technology, Lumenex™ engine, and Quantum Effects™ Technology. GigaThread™ technology maximizes GPU utilization to achieve greater efficiency when processing next-generation shader programmes. The NVIDIA Lumenex™ engine drives the 16x anti-aliasing, 128-bit floating point HDR (high-dynamic range), fast frame rates and the highest resolutions currently supported on the market. NVIDIA Quantum Effects™ technology simulates and renders physics effects directly on the GPU, allowing the CPU to maximize processing power. NVIDIA Quantum Effects™ technology eliminates the need to purchase an additional physics processing card.

Outstanding display versatility
These solutions also promote fast connectivity, flexibility and smart control for multiple displays using the NVIDIA® nView® Multi-Display Technology. The two dual-link DVI connectors and HDTV-ready interface allow the N8800GTX-768MX and N8800GTS-640MX to both support two 2560 x 1600 resolution displays and a variety of display types including 16:9 LCDs, HDTV and plasma displays. NVIDIA® PureVideo™ Technology offers great picture clarity, the smoothest video playback and accurate colors for DVD play, as well as, outstanding TV-out functionality with high-definition resolution. Efficient cooling is achieved with the NVIDIA-specified dual-slot fan-heatpipe cooling solution that maintains stable performance under maximum loads and tight dual card configurations. The N8800GTX-768MX and N8800GTS-640MX offer the ultimate graphics performance currently available on the market.
