rock and Intel team up for Cannonball 8000 Rally

UK, 6th September 2006; rock is delighted to announce it has teamed up with Intel to take part in the Cannonball 8000 Rally from London to Budapest. The eye catching Porsche 911 GT3 rock car is being sponsored by Intel to promote the launch of Core 2 Duo processors which are now available in a range of rock notebooks.

Nick Boardman, CEO of rock and Paul Shenton of Intel UK will participate in one of the most eagerly awaited rallies of the year. The rally starts on 15th September at Earls Court in London and finishes on 17th September in Budapest.

Nick and Paul will be using CoPilot Live on their Cannonball notebook to make sure they stay ahead of the pack. Fans will be able to log onto the rock website and track their progress thanks to CoPilot Live’s real-time location tracking; you can even send and receive messages to the rock team via the web.

Over a hundred cars are taking part in the Cannonball 8000, pitting their skills against each other to travel across Europe. rock’s gaming bus will be crammed full of the latest Core 2 Duo notebooks and on site at Earls Court on 15th September as the race begins. Eager gamers and notebook enthusiasts will have the opportunity to get a first look at the new limited edition rock Pegasus 665 with unique Cannonball lid design powered by the Intel’s Core 2 Duo processor. The CoPilot Live software and GPS is included as part of the special edition Cannonball notebook. rock are excited to be the first company in Europe to make this software available to consumers.
