Tandem Events today announced the launch of Develop Online. A one-day programme of ten enlightening sessions and one inspirational keynote address dedicated to online gaming, Develop Online takes place on 29 July alongside the Develop Conference and Expo in Brighton.
Randal Price - Areanet, Moussa Khan – CCP, Jim Purbrick - Linden Lab, Imre Jele – Jagex, Henrique Olifiers – Blitz Games and Robert Bond - Speechly Bircham are already lined up as Develop Online speakers. They will address the real world – and virtual world - challenges and solutions facing online game developers globally.
Andy Lane, managing director of Tandem Events, explained the thinking behind creating Develop Online: “
Online gaming is booming in Europe. Wildly successful pioneers like Jagex, CCP and DICE are giants on the international stage, while Brighton is becoming a hub for massively-multiplayer online gaming thanks to inward investment from overseas players like NCSoft and Linden Labs. Sony is developing PlayStation Home in London while, with the likes of APB, Little Big Planet and Burnout Paradise, ever-inventive European developers are finding new ways to add an online dimension to traditional games.
“
The creation of Develop Online recognises the increasing importance of the online gaming sector and addresses the technical issues currently faced by online developers, giving a unique opportunity for European developers to come together to share their insights for a day."
A Develop Online pass costs £175 before 1 July and £215 after. It gives delegates access to any/all Develop Online sessions on Tuesday 29 July as well full access to the Develop Expo on Wednesday 30 July and Thursday 31 July. Registration is open now at
