Stone Neo 101 delivers performance, practicality and portability with the reassurance of an unrivalled three year product warranty
17 April 2009, Staffordshire, UK – Stone Group, a leading IT provider and the UK’s largest privately owned computer manufacturer, has stormed into the growing netbook market with the launch of the stylish Stone Neo 101. Compact, light and feature-rich, the Stone Neo 101 netbook is ideally suited for home, work or education applications. While the Neo 101 boasts all the performance and features required to surf the web wirelessly, create documents, check emails or share photos, music and videos, it also comes with the reassurance of Stone Computer’s unrivalled three year netbook warranty*. The Stone Neo 101 will be available from May 1st, 2009 priced at £275 ex VAT.
At the heart of the Neo 101, is an Intel® Atom™ processor. Designed specifically for netbook applications, it optimises energy efficiency in order to extend battery life. The Neo 101 also helps users stay connected, thanks to its internal WiFi card or optional internal 3G module, which provides fast and seamless internet access. The inclusion of a 1.3 mega pixel camera means keeping in touch with family, friends and colleagues via live messaging and video conferencing is easy. In addition to the two USB ports, there is also a 34mm PCI-Express Card expansion slot for specialist applications such as infrared or smartcard readers.
The Neo 101 is also extremely user-friendly, thanks to a near-full sized keyboard which features key tops that are 90% of the size of a desktop’s key tops. This ensures that accurate typing and navigation on the Neo 101 is a breeze, even for adult users. It is easy on the user’s eye too, thanks to a 10.1” wide-screen WSVGA (1024 x 600) display. Portability is another one of the Neo 101’s assets; weighing in at just 1.3kgs, the Neo 101 is one of the lightest netbooks available, making it an ideal travel companion. The four-cell battery back has been neatly incorporated in to the netbook’s robust chassis, while the internal 3G module negates the need for vulnerable external dongles.
Nick Boardman, Mobile Technical Director at Stone Group, said: “Stone Computers has enjoyed considerable success with its desktop PC solutions, particularly in the education sector. The netbook market experienced rapid growth in 2008 and is expected to account for 10% of global laptop shipments in 2009, with 1.4 million netbooks set to ship in the UK. With its high-performance, user-friendly design and unrivalled warranty, Stone believes the Neo 101 is set to be a popular choice among demanding netbook users.”
In line with Stone’s reputation for providing outstanding customer service and product support, it is the only vendor to offer a three year RTB warranty as standard, with the option of upgrading to a full three year on-site warranty*.
Stone Computers is already recognised by the education sector for product reliability and customer service. These qualities have helped the company win Becta Accreditation as a service supplier, making Stone Group one of only a handful of such computer manufacturers in the UK to do so.
Stone recently announced that it has been selected as an ICT partner for the pilot trial of the Home Access programme. Home Access is a government programme designed to enable all families to have access to technology at home and provide learning equality for students through the provision of a powerful computer, education software, secure internet access and robust security, all optimised for a student’s education needs.
