Elixir 1066MHz DDR3 ECC SDRAM Readies for new Apple® Mac® Pro

Düsseldorf, Germany, 15 March 2009 – Nanya Technology (TAIEX: 2408), one of

worldwide leading DRAM manufacturers, today introduces its powerful product,

Elixir 1066MHz DDR3 ECC SDRAM for new Apple® Mac® Pro launched in early

March 2009.


Nanya 1066MHz DDR3 ECC SDRAM has been certified by Apple® Mac® Pro. Its

channel brand Elixir also equips Elixir 1066MHz DDR3 ECC SDRAM with the same

specification and qualification for all professional users of Apple® Mac® Pro.



This module utilizes 128Mx8 original Nanya DDR3 SDRAM, running at 7-7-7

latency, in BGA packages and accords with JEDEC standards. Its Error Correction

Code (ECC) function seeks out single-bit errors and detects multiple-bit errors

automatically. ECC function boosts data reliability and correction, which is especially

important in mission-critical and compute-intensive environments.


The emergence of Elixir 1066MHz DDR3 ECC SDRAM successfully carries out

Apple® Mac® Pro with its amazing bandwidth and data rate, which allows for more

data to be fed into the processor faster, helping each core spend its time processing

data without waiting for information to arrive. It helps to generate up to 2.4x increase

in memory bandwidth over previous generation, but runs at 1.5V with lower power

consumption.
