UK’S MOST EXTRAVAGANT SAMSUNG ZONE UNVEILVED BY SHILPA SHETTY & VICE-PRESIDENT OF SAMSUNG WITH PRC HI-FI & VIDEO AT FLAGSHIP STORE IN ESSEX

Friday 17th July 2009, Ilford, London: Last night saw the official and prestigious ribbon cutting ceremony by celebrity Shilpa Shetty, Vice-President of Samsung UK, Andy Griffiths and PRC’s Founder, John Digwa who unveiled the launch of the new ‘Samsung Zone’ at PRC Hi-Fi & Video’s flagship outlet at 78-80 Cranbrook Road, Ilford, Essex IG1 4NH.

The zone is one of the UK’s biggest Samsung branded outlets and the most extravagant, specially selected by the technology brand due to PRC’s reputation as the UK’s leading and award-winning independent retailer of top brand electricals.

The event was attended by a guest list which included business leaders, VIP’s, technology industry aficionados and other celebrities and presented an exclusive preview look at the latest Samsung products in the consumer market. PRC will have exclusive access to new Samsung products at its flagship store and exclusive promotions will also be on offer to consumers.

In speaking about the launch, Colin Rodgers, General Manager of Samsung UK, says: “We are delighted to have worked with PRC on this Samsung Zone in Ilford. The re-fitted store contains the full Samsung range of LED, LCD and plasmas TV’s but also showcases the growing range of digital cameras and laptops. The store design shows all these products in the best possible way and the trained store staff can take customers through all of the products’ features. The interactive and lifestyle show cases especially on the blu ray home cinema system shows the customer just how great the blu ray film watching experience will be in their own home.

We even have a taste of our expanding and increasingly successful range of refrigeration and cooking products to give the full Samsung Home experience. Samsung has worked with PRC for many years and we are delighted to have reached the point today where we have such an impressive, dedicated Samsung display area.”

Celebrity Shilpa Shetty said: “I have been friends with John Digwa for many years. I am really happy to see his business grow from strength to strength and to see him opening this amazing store. I am very proud of him”

Director of PRC, George Digwa says: “PRC has had the privilege of collaborating with Samsung to launch the Samsung Zone in the heart of London’s East End, but with an appeal that we are sure will attract customers from much further afield. The Samsung Zone we are about to experience is one of the UK’s biggest and most extravagant Samsung branded outlets.

We are delighted at the fact that we will be offering customers and visitors to this store the chance to experience an exclusive range of products and the very latest in consumer technology, all within an extremely comfortable, smart and professional environment.

We have worked with Samsung for several years, and the new store is testament to the fantastic relationship we have with the global brand leader. We have grown together in business and are now further building on an excellent relationship.”

Earlier that day, The Mayor of Redbridge, Councillor Thomas Chan, visited the flagship store. “I know of PRC and have passed the store many times. I thought the store looked amazing from the outside and now I have seen it from the inside it looks even more amazing. The colour scheme is excellent and brings out all the products. Especially during the time of this recession, this store is crucial for Cranbrook Road and the economy of Ilford. It is also very good for the people of Ilford to shop. I support the success of this store 110% and I am sure it will be a great success especially being backed by such enterprising people.”

Samsung selected PRC to host their branded outlet because they have successfully traded for several years, growing together in business and building on an excellent relationship. Samsung acknowledged that PRC have the relevant experience and business acumen to make the venture a success, with a product range that is extensive and competitively priced as well as the vision to create an even greater demand for technology. PRC are pioneers in the technology industry and are at the forefront of innovation, featuring the latest in technological developments in the surroundings of an award winning retail outlet favoured by a loyal fan base of thousands of satisfied customers, high profile corporations and celebrities.

The re-launch of the flagship outlet is just one example of PRC’s continued success in a market which, like many other industries, has had to endure the bite of the recession. With a dip of 3.3% in consumer spending on electrical goods, according to the British Retail Consortium, PRC are one step ahead of their competitors at all times, ensuring they stay at the top of their industry. The stability of retail in Ilford is further emphasised by the arrival of Tesco next door to the Samsung Zone.

Despite the current economic uncertainty, PRC is going from strength to strength and now welcomes one of the UK’s biggest Samsung branded outlets to its flagship store.
