TAIPEI, TAIWAN (December 18, 2009) – The Acer S243HL LCD monitor has been selected as a winner of the 2010 iF product design award. Organized by the International Forum Design of Germany, the iF awards have been held since 1953 and are regarded as an indicator of outstanding quality in design. The Acer S243HL was selected from among 2,486 products from 1,016 contestants submitted from 39 countries.
An international panel of experts judged on numerous criteria including design workmanship, choice of material, environmental compatibility and functionality. According to iF, participating in the iF design awards demonstrates the will to innovate and the courage to compare to others in competition.
The Acer S243HL LCD monitor sports a razor-thin depth of less than half an inch, creating a minimalist, professional look. It is encased in a classy black bezel and features a unique asymmetrical shape. Adding form to the elegantly simple design is a cylinder hinge on the rear and an L-shaped base with brushed-metal finish, accented by an LED light that glows in soft blue when the power is turned on.
This monitor also features a discreetly integrated speaker and up to 8,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and uses mercury-free white LED technology for up to 63% eco-friendly power conservation. The S243HL is a true blend of aesthetic appeal and sharp performance.
