Let Your Senses Be Captivated

London, 16th April 2010 - Acer widens its home entertainment range with the introduction of a new series of home displays that deliver exceptional picture and audio quality in a unique design.

Available in two screen sizes, 20 and 23 inch, Acer’s new compact home displays come with HD ready and Full HD resolution and harness the finest technologies for vibrant colours, razor sharp images and unmatched realism.

All new home displays feature N.I.C.E. (New Intelligent Color Engine), an innovative technology that streamlines various scenarios to offer the best picture you can get. N.I.C.E. automatically adjusts pictures settings according to the displayed content; improves input signal from any source and fine-tunes image quality optimizing output performance for all content; finally, it adjusts brightness, sharpness, contrast, and noise reduction levels, depending on CLOSE or FAR distance viewing mode. As a result, the settings are always fine tuned to what you are watching for a superb entertainment.

The new Acer home displays series can also perform intelligent zapping. They monitor the way you use them and determine which program you are watching through the in-built timer. Now you can flip through channels as much as you like: a simple pressure on the “Recall” will take you straight back to the program you were watching.

Moreover, the new models take advantage of Acer Adaptive Contrast Management (ACM) technology, a feature that provides a superior viewing experience by enhancing colour quality and by optimizing contrast. The result is awesome: achieving a contrast as high as 20,000:1, these home displays ensure a dramatic improvement of gradation and detail especially in dimmer and brighter scenes for stunning picture quality.

These Acer LCD TVs also include the Acer TV colour technology that brings a suite of five advanced, easy-to use optimization features designed to achieve images as close to real life as they can possibly be:

· Gamma Correction optimizes gamma curve to achieve brilliant colours and scene depth.

· Progressive Scan maximizes detail via 3D motion adaptive de-interlacing, enhancing quality and clarity.

· 3D Comb Filtering ensures sharp and accurate images.

· Noise Reduction uses an algorithm to remove picture noise and artefacts.

· Pull down recovery is a technology that ensures fluid image motion and superior DVD quality.
