Additional demos to include Internet TV and Global TV platforms for next-generation digital TV services
WHAT: NXP Semiconductors demonstrates advanced technologies in 3D TV, Internet TV and Global TV platforms
WHEN: September 4-9, 2009
WHERE: NXP Demo Suite, Hotel Berlin (By invitation only)
NXP Semiconductors will unveil solutions for next-generation digital TV services, including:
· Full working demo of the TV550 system. NXP will present a full working demonstration of its TV550 system, the first TV SoC created on an advanced 45nm process, integrating class-leading levels of functionality, including NXP’s best-in-class MAPP ME/MC frame rate conversion technology.
· Preview of 3D TV solution. NXP has worked with a key partner to develop its highly anticipated 3D TV technology based on its industry-leading video post processor, the PNX51xx family. The new 3D TV-enabled video post processor will be launched in Q1 2010, featuring the lowest cost solution for 3D TV – the first featuring FRC + 3DTV format conversions – and a flexible architecture enabling quick adaptation to 3DTV standards. The demo will show real 3D material rendering, conversion from 2D to 3D, and real-time depth adjustment.
· Internet TV enabled with a single chip. NXP’s TV543-based connected TVs are available in retail stores now. These Internet TVs enable access to an Internet portal containing localized content, as well as an embedded browser. Other demos will include a TV543 demo set running a standard widget engine, as well as an open web browser.
· Truly global chassis concepts for TV. Using real-life broadcast streams from around the world, NXP will demonstrate truly global chassis concepts for TV, covering the EU, North America and China. By providing a standard programming interface – a TV driver API or TDAPI – NXP is now making it easy for set makers to reuse existing regional middleware and bring global digital TV solutions to market faster, with less cost and risk. NXP has also partnered with key ISVs to provide regional turnkey solutions for Europe (DVB), North America (ATSC) and China (DMB).
