ViewSonic launches new All-in-One PC and announces Top Cloud computing
initiative.
New visual computing line increases affordability, mobility and productivity
and saves desktop space
London, UK - April 22, 2009 - ViewSonic® Corp., a leading global technology
provider, today released the first model in its new computing line, the
VPC100 All-in-One PC. This is the first in the new ViewSonic PC family,
which will also include 'nettop' PCs.
VPC100 All-in-One PC
ViewSonic brings users a smarter computing choice with the VPC100 All-in-One
PC. One of the thinnest available at 35mm, this full-function PC offers an
attractive space-saving profile and a 16:9 19" (18.5" viewable) LCD display
for razor-sharp images in crisp detail.
The VPC100 has all the essentials for home computing, Facebooking and Web
surfing in the kitchen, bedroom, den or office. It is powered by an Intel®
Atom 1.6GHz processor and has 1GB memory, a 160GB hard drive, Gigabit
Ethernet LAN, 802.11b/g WiFi, 1.3 megapixel Webcam, 8x DVD + / - RW,
integrated stereo speakers, 4-in-1 card reader and Microsoft® Windows® XP
Home Edition.
ViewSonic's All-in-One PC is a green choice, with 50% less plastic compared
to purchasing a PC and display separately. Users also save on energy, with
up to 50% less energy used.
ViewSonic on Top Cloud computing initiative
As cloud computing continues to gain popularity, expensive PCs are no longer
essential as the use of desktop applications and software is decreasing.
ViewSonic's On Top initiative incorporates two computing platforms that
assist with this transformation of desktop PCs into Web-centric displays
that communicate to software applications running on the Internet. The new
ViewSonic line of visual computing products is a natural progression to aid
the shift in demand for portability and mobility.
"We are excited to provide a new line of products that offers customers
computing options that fit their lifestyle," said (Alan Chang, Managing
Director of EMEA and Asia Pacific Region). "Backed by 20 years of display
experience and with strong PC partners to deliver computing demands, this
powerful combination positions ViewSonic to supply affordable products at
excellent quality."
In addition to the VPC100 All-in-One PC, ViewSonic will also ship two
attached 'nettop' PCs later on this quarter. The attached PCs can transform
any VESA compatible monitor into a cost-effective, space-saving and energy
efficient PC. For more information on ViewSonic's new visual computing
