Turtle Beach launches Facebook search for the next generation of gaming superstars

What: Turtle Beach is launching Britain’s Got Gamers, the first pursuit of its kind to discover and support emerging eSports talent in the UK.

Britain’s Got Gamers is a month long search to identify the best up and coming gamers the country has to offer. The ten winners recognized during the search for their skills and potential will be provided with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Who: Turtle Beach designs and markets premium audio peripherals for video game, personal computer, and mobile platforms, including its acclaimed line of Ear Force gaming headphones and headsets crafted for Xbox 360™, PlayStation™ 3, Nintendo Wii U™ game consoles and PCs. This search marks the launch of the Turtle Beach SEVEN series gaming headset, the first pro-gaming tournament-grade headset from the No. 1 in gaming audio.

When: Britain’s Got Gamers launches today on the Turtle Beach’s Facebook page, and is open to all gamers aged 15 and upwards.

Why: Ten winners will be chosen to receive a prize package containing the boost they need to put them on the path to eSports success: alongside a personalized XP SEVEN headset, the winners will receive private training and tips from some of eSport’s foremost community members and professionals:

● Zak Tallis of Team Dignitas has been part of the eSports arena since 2008, attending over 20 tournaments to date including the world’s first Call of Duty® XP finals in Los Angeles where he led his team to victory and $70,000 in prize money.
● Jonathan Hutchinson (AKA MrDalekJD) is a YouTube sensation who recently passed the 50 million views mark on his dedicated channel where he creates Call Of Duty® Zombie gameplay videos.
● Alan Brice of Xtreme Gaming is a leading eSports gamecaster and Activision™ contributor who most recently shoutcasted during the first Call of Duty® World Championship in Los Angeles.

How to Enter: To enter, applicants should visit the Turtle Beach Facebook page for the full guidelines. Interested participants need to submit a short, three minute video that explains why they’re the best thing to hit gaming since Atari. The deadline to submit an entry video is May 15, 2013, at 11:59 P.M. GMT. The top 50 finalists will be announced on May 18th. On May 25th the top nine winning entries will be a chosen by a judging panel. The final winning entry will be decided via public vote on Turtle Beach’s Facebook page using its Britain’s Got Gamer’s Facebook app, also on May 25th 2013.
