Puget Systems uses its expertise in silent computing to expand its popular Serenity line into the home theater market, and into a new smaller form factor.
SEATTLE, WA - Puget Systems (
www.pugetsystems.com), a boutique integrator of custom PC systems for enthusiasts, gamers, consumers and SMB markets, today announced a number of updates and new additions to their popular line of Serenity PCs.
"We are very proud of our expanded Serenity line," said Jon Bach, president of Puget Systems. "Our rigorous testing and thermal imaging have allowed us to take on the challenge of providing excellent quiet cooling without sacrificing high performance. Serenity is a product line that takes our best practices, and packages them into highly optimized configurations ideal for home computing, gamers and for the professional workspace. Our Serenity PCs are truly unmatched in the industry."

Serenity SPCR Edition
The Serenity SPCR Edition, their most quiet offering to date, has been updated to Intel’s Sandy Bridge platform, and has been certified quiet and reliable by Silent PC Review (SPCR).
“Puget's SPCR-certified Serenity PC is a truly well-crafted high performance computer that remains at the cutting edge of silent computing.” wrote Mike Chin, founder and owner of Silent PC Review. “At idle, it is still really hard to tell that the system is on using only sonic cues, even sitting next to it.” Silent PC Review certified the system with a measured sound pressure level of just 11 dBA@1m at idle and 12 dBA after an hour at full system load.

Serenity Home Theater
To meet the needs of high quality home theater rooms, Serenity Home Theater is designed to run cool and quiet even in minimally vented enclosed cabinets. It allows for blu-ray playback, HD online streaming, and even mid-range gaming -- all at extremely low noise levels. It allows for up to 8TB of internal storage, and comes with full options for a TV tuner, remote control, and a handheld keyboard and mouse. It is expected to include quad channel HD cablecard tuner support in upcoming months.
"Home theater PCs provide a unique challenge, because aesthetic and noise level concerns are more pronounced than in your typical desktop PC," said Richard Millard, General Manager at Puget Systems. "We've specially modified that chassis so that it is less obtrusive in your home theater, while still providing the cooling and quiet noise levels that a HTPC requires." The system is also specially designed to reduce the transmission of annoying vibration to home theater shelving.

Serenity Mini
Puget Systems brings their experience with silent computing to a smaller form factor with Serenity Mini. This compact PC uses all the same principles of the full size Serenity, and achieves even quieter operation through the use of a completely passive power supply, and more tightly packed cooling systems allowing for more effective air channeling. The result is a near-silent system that is capable of anything from anything from web browsing to high performance gaming.
