LAS VEGAS, California — January 06, 2011 — Corsair®, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC gaming hardware market, today announced that it is previewing its new Corsair Link™ technology at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in the Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth 35864. Corsair Link allows multiple Corsair products to be connected to the Corsair Link Controller, providing measurement and control capabilities that are unsurpassed by other solutions.

How it works

The sum is greater than the parts

Corsair products that includes a Corsair Link connector can be linked to the Controller and report key parametric data, such as temperature, fan speed, pump speed, voltage, power consumption, etc. which can then be used to provide visual data tracking as well as refined control (where appropriate) of these same parameters. As more Corsair components are connected, more data and more control are available to the user. A system consisting of all Corsair components connected via Corsair Link will provide an unprecedented level of feedback and control to the user.

“We believe that our new Corsair Link platform will provide users with unparalleled control over their PCs,” said Andy Paul, CEO of Corsair. “We’ve been developing the underlying Corsair Link hardware technology for more than a year, and we are confident that users will be very happy with the results. It is one more demonstration of our commitment to delivering innovative solutions that enhance the PC.”

Corsair Dominator® and Dominator GT modules with DHX Pro™ technology and the Corsair Airflow™ Pro, as well as the newly announced Hydro Series™ H60 are first products with Corsair Link connectors, and several future PSUs and CPU coolers are planned to include the Corsair Link connector. In addition, a Corsair Link fan controller and light controller are expected to ship in the first half of this year.

Corsair Link desktop software

The Corsair Link software application was developed in concert with CoolIT Systems, a leading technology supplier in liquid cooling. Working together, Corsair and CoolIT have created a software-connected hardware platform to support monitoring and control of PSUs, DRAM modules, lighting and fan controllers, in addition to CPU coolers.

“CoolIT is a technology partner that shares our vision of measurement and control,” said Ruben Mookerjee, VP and General Manager for Components at Corsair. “By working together with CoolIT, we’ve developed a complete system that allows users to control nearly every facet of their PC’s operation.”

“We’re pleased to be able to work with Corsair on their new Corsair Link technology,” said Geoff Lyon, President and CEO of CoolIT Systems. “Our software platform was an ideal starting point for our companies to use in creating a next-generation solution that extends from CPU cooling to nearly all the components in a PC.”

Using a visual, drag-and-drop interface, users can develop profiles that control multiple devices and parameters. For example, a “Maximum Performance” profile might include instructions to run all cooling fans at maximum, boost the radiator fan speed on the H60 to maximum, monitor both CPU and cooling fluid temperature, and change the lighting in the case to give a visual indication of the selected profile. Users can also use the application to track and log key parametric data from all of their connected components.

The Corsair Link Controller and desktop application are expected to begin shipping in Q2, 2011. Pricing has not yet been set.
